Dr. Nuñez brings exceptional expertise, leadership, and compassion to this role - helping to guide MindSense’s mission of delivering trauma-informed assessments across Canada.
A US-trained, board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Nuñez has been based in Vancouver since 2012. He holds an additional certification in Occupational Medicine and practices at St. Paul’s Hospital, where he has worked across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and consult-liaison psychiatry. In addition to his hospital work, Dr. Nuñez provides independent consulting, IMEs, and expert testimony in complex psychiatric cases.
His areas of expertise include trauma disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, providing occupational medical consultation within a mental health lens ,assessing cases of historical institutional abuse, and executive health practices. Dr. Nuñez also serves as a physician representative for the Violence Prevention Curriculum at St. Paul’s Hospital. His clinical experience has included providing treatment for disadvantaged individuals, including undocumented immigrants, human trafficking survivors, and other underserved communities.
